Have just made the cake and it is lovely! Everybody enjoying it (so it won’t hang around for long!). I used your lemon oil and it worked very well. We love your oils and other products; shocked that your material should be so blatantly lifted by other people. Love receiving your Dolce Vita diaries (and very much enjoyed reading your book). In fact we love Le Marche and reading your news keeps our own dream of owning a little place there alive!

Hello Jim – if you use rock salt you get nice random chunks of salt on top of the focaccia which give the bread texture and the odd salty mouthful.

Crummy! I know very well how much work goes into creating and running a small business, and the blatant stealing of ideas is in such bad form that it’s hard to believe. Having said that, I would think that your alerting customers/fans will be as effective (or more so) than pursuing legal recourse to put a stop to it. Plus much less expensive! Best of luck!

I must have been a very early adoptive olive parent and my husband and daughters re-adopted a tree for three years for my birthday until last year when I got a handbag!
This week I read the Dolce Vita Diaries for the first time and realised how much I missed my slice of Le Marche life (and the packages, even though I have continued to buy the delicious oil). So I have adopted for myself this year as a nod to your enterprise and obvious skill. Great idea, great product – I hope you all continue to thrive in Italy.

You might want to check with your country’s laws regarding copyrights, trademarks, etc., to see if there is any protection you have against such a thing. It is tough especially if the copy cats are in another country. If they are in Europe also, there may be some laws that overall govern such a thing.
Other than sending them a polite message that you are on to them, I don’t know what else you could do without a legal consultation.
You might want to check to see if you can cover yourself with some sort of ownership claim or statement on your website.
